⌈ CHARACTER SECTION ⌉

Character: Agnés Oblige
Age: 20
Canon: Bravely Default
Canon Point: After Ouroboros is defeated and agreeing to return to her rightful world with the others.
Background: HERE

Personality: Agnés is a soft spoken and very polite young woman. She always speaks properly and with a gentle tone. There's a degree of royalty in her speech yet he never talks or looks down on others. She is fiercely independent and for a good while she is convinced her mission must only be hers alone. She refuses help from Tiz and the others for awhile and only very reluctantly lets them travel with her on her mission to restore the crystals of the world. She takes her duty as Vestal very seriously and to heart. Nothing will get in her way when it comes to fulfilling this role. As a result she does not want people to be burdened by the Vestal's problems and likewise does not wish to be burdened by the problems of others. Later she comes to cherish her friends' help and even depends on them but she is still seen apologizing to them for getting them all involved.

Although she appears dainty and a typical "damsel in distress" she is anything but. She is an inspiration to those around her, her friends and random strangers alike. She has a very strong presences in her home town of Ancheim. So strong in fact that she was able to overthrow the corrupt king at the time and inspire the people with a single speech. Her presences and mission to stop the taint from spreading and destroying towns as it did with Norende also inspires Tiz. He pledges loyalty and willing to help her cause pretty quickly. She isn't afraid to speak her mind or stand up to people although she can sometimes be too quick to judge. She isn't rash, however, and will bow her head obediently if she must in order to keep the peace or keep others safe until a better time for action arises.

Despite her outward politeness Agnés can be a bit cold and doesn't trust others that easily. She was suspicious of Edea for awhile and grew angry at her when she discovered she was the daughter of Braev Lee, Grand Marshal of Eternia who was the man responsible for sending people to capture her. Yet she isn't prideful and is quick to see the error of her ways, later apologizing to Edea and coming to value her as a very trusted friend. She does not often want to get involved in the affairs of other people. Helping others if it conflicts with her duty means she more often than not wants to not help. She isn't uncaring she just doesn't want to get tied up in matters that don't apply to her. Likewise she fears of getting them mixed up with her affairs as well. However once she comes to trust someone she holds them in high regard and will do anything for them. The bonds of friendship and trust are important to her after losing a close friend and being betrayed by a trusted partner during the course of her journey.

Having devoted her entire life to the Wind Crystal and the Crystal Orthodoxy Agnés is very naive and clueless about the world. She has never even seen a bow and arrow before, as implied in a party chat, and even asks which one is the arrow when she holds it for the first time. She's a bit oblivious in general too and often misses obvious signs or cues in a conversation. Jokes can easily fly over her head and sometimes a lighthearted conversation or jab is taken too seriously. Agnés is also infamous for her absolutely terrible sense of direction. It took her two hours to reach the top of a summit with a very obvious straight path to get there. She constantly goes in the wrong direction and often has to be redirected by someone else or she'll wander off for hours.

Despite learning the dark history of the Crystal Orthodoxy Agnés holds fast to her beliefs and holds them without wavering. She believes in the Crystals and their power no matter what. Although she is certainly shocked and appalled by what she learns she remains proud of being the Wind Vestal and carrying her duty to the Orthodoxy. She even vows to reform it at the end of the game and improve upon it to make up for the dark past it carries. Her faith backfires a few times, specifically with Airy, whom she trusts unconditionally because she calls herself a cryst-fairy that has come to help the crystals in their hour of need. It's also the reason she has trouble believing Airy's true nature for awhile and it isn't until Tiz convinces her that she finally admits the truth. However her faith also inspires those who had otherwise lost faith in the crystals, believing she could indeed turn everything about the Orthodoxy into good.

Agnés is a kind person when you get right down to it, bound by her duties and resolved in her faith. She is protective of her friends and would do anything for them. Once you've earned her trust she has your back no matter what.

Abilities: Agnés has the ability of various jobs called Asterisks in her world. This essentially means she can switch between various styles of combat and defense like Black Mage, White Mage, Knight, Monk, etc. She has access to all 23 jobs at this point in her canon and can switch freely between them all... however Agnés is best suited for the use of magic. She has the highest magic attack, defense and MP stats out of the four main party members so her role is best suited for the various magic based jobs found in the game. This includes both offensive magic and defensive magic too.

As a result, however, Agnés is not very suited for physical classes like the Knight or Monk. Her physical attack and defense is the weakest of the four characters. She also isn't very quick on her feet either and is only third best (out of four) in agility.

Alignment: Peromei - Agnés has experienced great despair throughout her journey. She lost her best friend, coldly murdered right in front of her, and her other trusted companion betrayed her and admitted to having been using her all along. She saw the destruction of countless worlds at the hands of Ourobors and the deaths of millions that resulted from it. Yet Agnés herself remains not only a light of hope to others (Tiz called her his "light of hope" and many of the people of her hometown felt similar) but she also has strong belief in her faith. Even after learning its terrible crimes of the past Agnés was hopeful she could turn it all around and make it what it should be.

So even in the face of such despair Agnés has an abundance of hope on her side too. She has succumb to both frequently through her journey. They are probably her strongest emotional feelings throughout the course of her canon… thus making Peromei the perfect fit.

⌈ SAMPLE SECTION ⌉

Sample:

This city was quite unlike any she had ever seen. Sure there were plenty of similarities and she could recognize some things but so far everything largely remained alien to her. She could hardly believe everything she had been told about the place too. Emotions as energy that also produce physical responses and reactions? What a strange thing to imagine.

Now as Agnés walked among what appeared to be a flower festival of some kind she found herself smiling. A different world, a different set of people... yet somehow so much the same. It reminded her of Florem although the memories from there were bittersweet now. Everyone here was in good spirits though and so she couldn't help feeling it too. The bounce in her steps and the smile on her face felt nice. She considered this a nice vacation after the end of their long and difficult fight against Ouroboros. Having Tiz and Edea here made her happy too although she worried about Ringabel and over being here too long. There were many important things to be accomplished once she returned home...

She paused near a blooming tree among other spectators, most of them couples watching hand in hand, and her smile grew as the pink blossoms unfurled before her in real time. She had never seen anything like it...

She made a motion to step aside, intending to leave now, but bumped right into someone else.

"Oh, excuse me..." Agnés began and trailed off, folding her hands in front of her and bowing slightly. "I apologize."

The boy she had bumped into looked perplexed and then shrugged, telling her not to apologize. He offered a friendly smile and the two had a brief conversation which seemed perfectly pleasant... then abruptly she found herself being asked on a date. It startled her and she belatedly realized she had been getting hit on this whole time. Well... this guy was more subtle than Ringabel so she can't be blamed for having no caught on. (He hadn't been being very subtle at all.)

"Oh, well I... no, thank you." She bowed again and then hurried away, trying to get lost in the crowd.

Which wasn't hard to do at all because she paused again, glancing in all directions. "Ah... Which way was I suppose to go to meet the others again?"

Too late. She was completely lost now.
